Locket Album Review (Madison Beer)
Y'all I am *so* *sorry* about not posting yesterday. It was busy! I went to the Silver Skillet with my (still) ex-lover, cuddled, talked about very many things (most of which are becoming blog posts), and then! Then I helped make a pizza, watched Witch Hat Atelier with my bestie, packed, measured the price per fl. oz. of various types of Vaseline, and by the time it was all said and done it was past midnight.
I'm making it up this time around with two posts! This is the first.
Scene
I'm sitting in the window seat of a Frontier Airlines flight, stuck on the runway. I'm just over the wing, so I'm not going to see much scenery on the flight home. Same as flying in.
Twenty-four hours ago I was stepping into lingerie and dabbing blush into my lips in preparation for a date. Twelve hours ago I was laying in the lap of one of my best friends, talking about how easily I forget details about people and places. Six hours ago I was snoozing an alarm.
On a whim, I bought the locket deluxe album off iTunes for $10.99. I'm not entirely sure if whims exist. More accurately, I couldn't imagine an hour and a half without visiting the longing inside me. My feelings are raw and intimate things. Music doesn't save them at all, but it does decorate their living space.

What? Who said that? Anyways, would be great in a getting-ready-to-go-out playlist. Makes you wanna shake your shoulders and daydream about being drunk and hot.

Overall, a mess. I'm not a fan of how the intro builds and breaks without care. The song is, for the most part, very Ariana Grande-core (derogatory), and the closest I've gotten in a while to DNFing. The "in my head you lie" bit has a nice rhythm though, which makes up for it a little.
The outro does not fit the vibe at all.

Nearly cried on the plane. It's so wistful, and it prods at that sore part of your heart that wants to go back and get a do-over. The "wonder if it's worth doing it again" lyric sticks in your head.

Actually cried on the plane! I love when Madison's voices coalesce into a singular, and she goes "I only exist in the moments you're talking to me". That's good. Also the concept of being so deeply buried in someone that you'd want to sleep through your time apart from one another is so so good. It is a solid representation of how I love and also helps me understand the concept of dying of grief. I also really like the phrase "colors of pain".

I was not expecting the electronic aspect of it at all, but it's so so good. The whole song is really dance-y and I love it for that. Wish there was more of an instrumental bit at the end though.

Catchy! I hear this one out and about more, but that's not a bad thing. It's a little dance-y and a little dramatic, but not fully both. Could be good for a getting-ready playlist.

I thought it was going to be a slower song judging from the way it started, but then it hit this electronic rainbow-road thing and I LOVED that. I don't think I really relate to the theme at all, but it was a really fun song that did a bunch of different things and that was really nice. It grows on you.

I kinda like the old-timey-ness of it, especially the slow down and pitch down on "I just can't help that I'm a loover gurll" - that hit. Wish it leaned more into being slow and old and instrumental and not this mix. That'd make it a five star probably.

The intro is heavenly. Also might be my new favorite song. It's very D/s coded, and it just keeps building and layering throughout. The doo doo doo doo on the piano (you'll know what I'm talking about) hits so well. And then that "I don't need permission / I'll do whatever I please" is just oml. Ideal vibe. Very D/s coded. I love it.

Song is cute! It's not particularly special in my opinion, but I like the strings, and it's very sweet and kinda grew on me. It's just there, and sweet, and I like it.
